We are currently searching for a talented, professional “MASTER NETWORK SPECIALIST (INS TECHNICAL LEAD) in Quantico, VA. We are looking for a candidate with Information Technology (IT) services background for a The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific (SSC Pacific) contract to provide Cyber Support Services related to the United States Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group (MCCOG). The objective is to support the MCCOG in carrying out the technical, engineering, operations, maintenance, and management functions that support global network operations and defense of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (GEN). The GEN is comprised of Eight Information Technology (IT) Support Centers (ITSCs) which are responsible for the management and compliance of devices (specifically workstations and other endpoints) within their regions; and the Quantico Operations Center which monitors network operations 24x7x365 through an array of strategically positioned sensors to ensure the availability and security of the GEN.  Specifically, the Operations Center monitors three major areas of the GEN: (1) threats and vulnerabilities; (2) Information Technology (IT) systems status and performance; and (3) global Government operations.



·         Technical Lead in charge of supporting the GEN including tactical networks, networks deployed aboard ships, and garrison networks aboard camps and stations, which includes NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS networks.

·         Extensive level of Integrated Network Support (INS) is expected which includes WAN optimization support, Domain Name System (DNS) Support, Firewall Support, Router Support, Switch Support, and Web Content Filtering Support.

·         Leads and supervises the INS technical staff in charge of providing INS Support Tier III serving as SME for all systems supported by INS, including networks up to the TS/SCI levels (all network management and information architecture).

·         Provides INS – Domain Name System (DNS) Support Tier III which includes configuring DNS within Government office IA suites; function with BIND DNS including adding, deleting, and changing DNS records; securing DNS configurations based on DISA STIG guidance; and configuring logging, troubleshooting, and DNS Security (DNSSec) incidents.

·         Provides INS – Linux O/S Tier III Support including configuring LINUX systems within the MCCOG IA suites and administering LINUX, including configuring, maintaining, and operating Red Hat Enterprise LINUX (RHEL) Satellite Server.

·         Provides INS – Network Route & Switch Support Tier III includes Cisco, Brocade, and Juniper Routers and switches.


Required Skills:

  • At least five years of experience leading senior technicians in a DoD network environment supporting Tier II – Tier III DNS, LINUX, Firewalls, WAN Optimization, and Routing and Switching.
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) level III.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification. 


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Management or related Technology field.
